PPSC Schools Grading Information 2021

Schools are divided into one of four Grades
A, B, C or D.

In co-educational schools the Boys and Girls teams are graded separately.
At the end of every season schools can apply for a regrade based on one of the following reasons:

  • Appealing a National promotion (n/a this season)
  • Appealing a Regional promotion (n/a this season)
  • Requesting a change of Grade for next season
  • Requesting a Change of Grade

A school may request a change of grade when they wish to compete at a lower grade for the following season. Requests from C to D are approved at Regional level, however please be aware that D leagues do not exist in all Regions. Schools can request a change to a lower grade by fully completing the Regrading Form (see link below). This form must also be completed for all regrades including A, B, C & D.

In all cases incomplete application forms will be rejected. It is the responsibility of the school contact to fully complete all sections of the regrading forms. PDF copies of all scoresheets are required to be submitted as part of the process.

All regrading requests are decided upon by the full PPSC committee at their final meeting of the season (held in May each year). Schools are notified of the outcome of their request after this meeting. If a school is unhappy with the outcome they can submit an appeal to the NAC in line with Basketball Ireland regulations.
