2022/23 Pinergy All-Ireland Schools Cup draw throws up plenty of interesting matchups

The draw for the 2022/23 Pinergy All-Ireland Schools Cup draw is in the books ahead of the opening preliminary round matches on Friday, September 16th and teams can now begin to plot their way through the bracket.

This year will see ten categories included in the competition at U19 & U16 level, with the exception of a 'C' grade for girls at those levels due to a lack of entries.

Last year's U19 'A' boys champions St. Malachy's will open up against St. Paul's Oughterard in the 'Round of 32' on September 23rd. In the girls U19 'A' division, Loreto Dalkey will be hoping to go one better than last year. Their first game comes against the winners of Coláiste Iosagain, Dublin and Gort Community School.

Mercy Mounthawk will be out to complete back to back cup successes in the U16 'A' boys category. That journey starts with a difficult assignment against Patrician Academy Mallow. The U16 'A' girls division will have a new winner this year, without both of last year's finalists at this level and shapes to be as competitive as ever.
