Ireland U16 men will aim to defend their Four Nations title later this month, as the annual tournament with England, Scotland and Wales returns to the National Basketball Arena on March 26th and 27th.
Ireland’s U16 women are also in action, with new head coach Paul O’Brien looking to improve upon a second-place finish in 2023. Tickets for both days are on sale here. All games will be streamed on basketballireland.tv and live stats available on the Swish All Hoops app.

Three players will feature for Ireland men’s team who took part in last year’s trophy winning side, Kieran Quinn (Gill St. Bernard’s,USA), Denis Brusevics (Neptune BC) and Nathan Gbinigie (Titans BC). Head coach Paul Kelleher named his squad in December ahead of a Christmas training camp and was looking forward to getting the competition underway: “With every passing training camp, the players are improving all the time. The connection they are making, the basketball progress and off court progress is beginning to show. we are now thoroughly looking forward to the Four Nations with these players,” said Kelleher.
Kaitlyn Summers will be back in action for Ireland having competed at the Four Nations in 2023.
It's a similar situation for Coach O’Brien, who can call on four returning players from his stint as assistant coach a year ago. Aoibheann Donnelly (Belfast Star), Francesca Kyamagero (Cobh BC) and Kaitlyn Summers (Kilkenny Stars) and Lucy Walsh (Cobh BC) are all back in the fold. “We feel we have selected a squad that can deal with different situations and the potential in the group is massive. I am extremely happy to be going into the Four Nations tournament with this group,” said O’Brien upon announcing his 15-strong squad ahead of the tournament.
