InsureMyVan.ie Division 1 Round 3 preview

Round 3 of the InsureMyVan.ie Division 1 National League gets underway Saturday afternoon, kicking off with Drogheda Wolves against LYIT Donegal at Ballymakenny College (15.30). Drogheda Wolves will be looking to bounce back after their loss to McGowan's Tolka Rovers, while LYIT Donegal are also reeling from a tough defeat at the hands of EJ Sligo All-Stars.

Titans BC host Ulster University at Ballinfoile Centre (18.00). Titans will be seeking their first win of the competition when they welcome Ulster University to Galway, who are currently 1-1. 

A Dublin derby takes place at Coláiste Bríd on Saturday evening, when Abbey Seals Dublin Lions and McGowan's Tolka Rovers face off against each other (19.15). Both teams secured wins in round 2 and will looking to build momentum by securing bragging rights over their nearest opponents.

Another local derby takes place in Limerick this weekend, when Limerick Celtics host Limerick Sport Eagles at St. Munchin's College (19.15). Limerick Sport Eagles are coming off the back of consecutive wins, while Limerick Celtics have won their only game thus far.

The final game of the round takes place in Cork, where yet another local battle takes place, as Fr. Mathews welcome UCC Demons to Fr. Mathews Arena (19.45). Again, both of these teams are yet to taste defeat in the competition, although Fr. Mathews have only played one of their fixtures so far.

The round 3 fixtures of IT Carlow v Scott's Lakers Killarney and Killarney Cougars v Portlaoise Panthers were both postponed, owing to the InsureMyHouse.ie President's Cup preliminary-round, Scott's Lakers Killarney v Portlaoise Panthers, set to take place on Saturday ahead of round 1 next weekend.
