Basketball Ireland referee to feature on Women in Sport week webinar

Basketball Ireland official Emma Perry is set to be among the contributors for Sport Ireland's Breaking Barriers webinar to mark Women in Sport Week 2025.

Breaking Barriers: Women in Officiating will take place this evening, Thursday March 6th from 20:00 to 21:00, with Sport Ireland inviting those who have an interest to register to join the discussion here.

Sport Ireland Officials Development Manager, Clare Dowdall, will be joined by inspirational guest speakers Emma Perry FIBA (Basketball) Siobhan Coyle (LGFA) & Glenda Mellon (IRFU) to explore further some of the challenges, achievements, and future opportunities for women officiating in sport. The path into and through a career in officiating will be discussed, along with practical tips on how to get started and progress your own officiating journey.

Recent research on the topic which opens new avenues for reflection will also be highlighted.
