Women in Basketball

Basketball Ireland recently launched our Women In Basketball Strategic Plan 2023-2027, which aims to continue the excellent work being done to remove barriers to particpation in basketball at all levels.

Through engagement will all stakeholders, Basketball Ireland has identified four key areas that we will target to help continue the active participation of women socially, competitively and in administration and coaching roles in Irish basketball:

• Playing The Game
• Leadership
• Visibilty & Promotion
• Coaching & Officiating

Basketball Ireland’s Women in Sport Representative Erin Bracken said: “Maintaining and increasing female participation in all aspects of basketball has always been high on our agenda. This Women In Basketball Strategy will give us the framework to achieve our goals, supporting women to get involved or re-engage with the sport from the elite level right through to grassroots.”
