Basketball Ireland's annual SOCIA-Ball blitz took place at the National Basketball Arena, with more than 150 players participating in activities between 10:00 and 15:00 on the day.
This programme is designed to to re-engage women and girls in our sport using a recreational, non-competitive model with a focus on fun and social outlet. This programme provides a non-competitive opportunity for women to engage with the sport and being physically active. The emphasis is on fun, socializing and moving in a safe environment.
690 players have registered so far in the 2024 and there is still the chance for your club to set up a team. If you are a club or a player who wish to engage with the SOCIA-Ball programme, you can email our SOCIA-Ball co-ordinator Triona Leahy on tleahy@ireland.basketball or find your nearest club and more information on SOCIA-Ball by clicking here.
