Belfast, Leixlip, Cavan, Dublin West and Midlands advance from first round of Masters National Cup

Belfast Masters, BC Leixlip Zalgiris, East Cavan Eagles, Dublin West and Midland Masters have advanced to the last eight of the O40 Men's Masters National Cup following the opening round fixtures. They join defending champions Neptune BC, Brothers Near and Far (BNAF) and Éanna BC in the quarter-finals. 

The last eight will include some mouth watering ties, none more so than defending champions Neptune BC facing BC Leixlip Zalgiris in Kildare after Leixlip overcame Galway Masters 94-23 in the first round. Elsewhere Belfast Masters narrowly edged out UCD Marian 77-73, East Cavan Eagles took the spoils against North Munster in Virginia 92-57, Dublin West accounted for Kilkenny Masters 82-79 and Midland Masters defeated Tyrone Towers 51-46. 

The Leixlip Zalgiris team which defeated Galway Masters in the first round of the O40 Men's Masters National Cup. 

The draw will see East Cavan Eagles will take on Dublin West in the only meeting where both teams will have previously played a game. Éanna BC will travel to Belfast Masters and Midland Masters welcome Brothers Near and Far as well as the aforementioned tie between BC Leixlip Zalgiris and Neptune BC. 

These fixtures are set to be completed by next Sunday, April 6th.
