Expressions of Interest requested for InsureMyHouse.ie Masters National Cup 2023/24
Basketball Ireland would like to request expressions of interest from teams interested in competing in the InsureMyHouse.ie Masters National Cup 2023/24.
Neptune BC and Rebel Ramblers won the Over 40 men's and O40 women's categories respectively at the National Basketball Arena in April and by filling out the survey below, Basketball Ireland can provide the most inclusive format possible in terms of age categories and number of participants.
The calender of Masters basketball events continues to grow. The Galway Masters international tournament will take place next month (November 10th/11th/12th) followed by the Dublin and Kilkenny Masters. A further event will be added to the circuit shortly.
The Basketball Ireland Masters' programme has been boosted in recent years with some excellent performances by our teams on the international stage. To build on that we would like to assemble a database of coaches, players and management who wish to compete and take part in international competition.
It is important that we get this in place as early as possible to facilitate planning for the FIMBA European Championships in Pesaro, Italy between June 21st and June 30th 2024 as well as other international events.

InsureMyHouse.ie Masters National Cup Rules and Regulations
- Teams must only comprise of players resident in the same province.
- All players must be registered with Basketball Ireland and hold a valid current BIPIN.
Registration fee is €20.00 per player. Register HERE
- The competition will be a regionalised open draw knockout national competition.
- Referees & T.O. fee’s will be split evenly by both teams and paid immediately after the game.
- The referee’s will be appointed by B.I. and the TO’s by the home team.Game date, time &
Venue to be emailed to mmurray@ireland.basketball at least 5 days prior to tip off.
- Hall hire to be paid by home team.
- Game rules and regulations to follow standard FIBA national league rules.
- Age requirements are as follows.

- O50 Men @31st Dec 2023
- O50 Women @31st Dec 2023
- Team list and home venue address and Eircode to be completed and emailed to masterscups@basketballireland.ie. Before Friday Nov 24th 2023
- Results: Emailed to masterscups@basketballireland.ie by home team.
Please use the following format: Half Time Score/Full Time Score/Top 3 scorers names from each team
- A minimum warm up time of 30 minutes must be given to the travelling team by the home team.
- Each team will be required to pay a bond of €150 as part of the application process. Failure to complete a fixture, withdrawing from the competition or playing ineligible players will result in forfeiture of the bond.
- A fee of €100 per team will be levied on each team entering the competition. The money collected will be ringfenced for Masters Basketball and ensure the sustainability of the competition.
