Ireland U16 men's head coach Emer Howard has selected an inital squad of 31 players, as she begins preperations in earnest for the 2024/25 international season.
Four players, Limerick Lions Fryderyk Klimas, IMH Academy's Sean Patterson, Declan Ehigie from PA Hoops Academy and Karl Walsh of Éanna BC return from the last season's roster. Klimas, Patterson and Ehigie all featured during Ireland's most recent FIBA U16 Men's Youth EuroBasket campaign - contributing heavily in wins over Great Britain, Bosnia & Herzegovina and Norway.

17 clubs are represented in the squad - with players hailing from Limerick, Tipperary, Dublin, Sligo, Louth, Laois and Galway all making the grade.
Speaking about her initial announcement, head coach Emer Howard said:
“We are very happy with the panel of 31 players that we have selected, and can’t wait to get started on our journey to the FIBA U16 Men's Youth EuroBasket 2025. Squad selection is never easy, and hopefully those who missed out on this occasion will continue to put the work in to achieve their goals.”
