The first finalist of this year's O40 Men's Masters National Cup has been confirmed, after BC Leixlip Zalgiris continued their fantastic run of form in a dramatic 54-53 win against Éanna BC in Coláiste Éanna.
A scintillating third quarter of shooting sealed it for the team from Kildare, outscoring their opponents 28-10 during that spell. Kestutis Damulevicius topped the boxscore for Zalgiris with 16 points, while Andrius Lekavicius and Inarts Vitols both chipped in with 11. Paddy Kelly had a strong game for Éanna, scoring 20 points, with Super League champion from a year ago Mark Reynolds dropping 15.
BC Leixlip Zalgiris will face either East Cavan Eagles or Brothers Near and Far (BNAF) in the final. The two strongest teams on the opposite side of the draw clash this Sunday afternoon in Cuchulainns GAA club in Mullagh, Cavan at 17:00.
