Ireland U18 Women's team announced ahead of Four Nations tournament

A panel of 16 players has been chosen by head coach Tommy O'Mahony and his backroom team for the Ireland U18 women's team ahead of the trip to Cardiff for this week's Four Nations tournament - comprising of England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales.

Three of the players selected hail from Liffey Celtics (Niamh O'Leary, Emily O'Dwyer and Niamh Sherlock), while two players remain in the squad from Waterford Wildcats (Caitlin Gloeckner and Sarah Hickey).

There are nine uncapped players in the squad, which include Tara Nevin, Amy Duggan, Micaiah Fubara, Rachel Callery, Niamh Sherlock, Niamh Tolan, Erica Egan, Niamh O'Leary and Emily O’Dwyer. 

Caitlin Gloeckner, Rebecca Sexton, Bree Shelley and Lucy Devoy all capped at the FIBA u16 European Challengers last summer, meanwhile Maria Kealy and Lucy Coogan capped at the FIBA u18 in European Challengers. Sarah Hickey, capped at U16 and U18, is in line to reach her 25th cap for Ireland in the upcoming competition.

The Four Nations returns after a two-year break and it will give elite players the opportunity to put on their national team vests and come together to play for their country and showcase their talents ahead of selection for this summer's FIBA U18 European Championship.

All games will be shown on the BBL Player and shared via the Basketball Ireland social media, on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.

There are three games scheduled for Ireland in Cardiff on Wednesday and Thursday.

- April 13th @ 11am vs Wales

- April 13th @ 3pm vs England

- April 14th @ 11am vs Scotland
