Basketball Ireland is pleased to announce 11 new safeguarding courses, which are now available on Basketball Ireland's Learning Management System 'Helpside'. We have offered a variety of dates and times for these courses over the next two months.
Why do Safeguarding Training?
It is crucial that everyone plays their part in safeguarding and protecting children and young people. By attending training and events, you will develop your knowledge and skills to help you to recognise and respond to abuse or harm.
Who is Safeguarding Training for?
All staff and volunteers should receive safeguarding training appropriate for their role. Basic face to face, in person and online, awareness courses or workshops are appropriate for those working in sport with regular responsibility for children and young people in sport. Training should be updated and reviewed regularly for staff and volunteers, and in line with national guidance and changing legislation.
The safeguarding courses are open to those 16 years of age and above (16 and 17 year old's will be required to submit parental consent forms).
