Women in Sport Coaching Clinic with Albena Branzova

Basketball Ireland is inviting all female coaches to a free coaching morning with Albena Branzova at Clongowes Wood College, Clane, on Saturday 8th August, from 10am to 1pm.

The session replaces the Women in Sport Coaching Conference, which was due to take place the same day. The conference could not go ahead after Anna Montañana was appointed to a new position. Everyone who bought a ticket has been refunded in full.

About Albena Branzova

Albena Branzova is a former Bulgarian international who played college basketball at Florida International University and was drafted by the New York Liberty in the 1998 WNBA draft. She holds a PhD and works as a mental high performance coach, helping athletes and coaches sharpen focus, build awareness and perform under pressure. She is also an assistant coach with Canada Basketball.

Albena is in Ireland to deliver a high performance day with Basketball Ireland's female academy players. Female coaches are invited to join the morning portion of the day and see her work up close.

What the morning looks like

  • Interactive introduction: a short session on Mental Advantage Applications in Basketball, covering the framework and coaching language the players will use throughout the day.
  • Live practice observation: watch those principles built into a real academy practice, with a Coach Observation Guide provided so you can follow the session through a coaching lens.
  • Coach reflection and Q&A: the morning closes with a group discussion on what you observed and how to apply it in your own coaching environment.
