Basketball Ireland is pleased to announce the dates and venues for the Under 17 boys and girls open talent identification sessions, which will take place on the weekend of October 8th and 9th at Gormanston Park, County Meath.
Players will be selected from these open trials to be part of the U17 International Development Academy which forms part of the pathway program leading to the under 18 National Team for the European Championships in 2024. All players living and playing in Ireland wishing to be considered for selection for the U18 program for 2024 should attend these Talent Identification Sessions.
Any players living and playing abroad that can not attend the trial should still complete the registration form but do not need to pay the fee.

Talent Identification Session Details
U17 Girls – Venue: Gormanston Park, County Meath. Date, October 8th
Time:10am – 5.30pm
- NOTE: Participants must attend for the full day.
U17 Boys – Venue: Gormanston Park, County Meath. Date, October 9th
- Leinster:10am – 1pm.
- Connacht, Ulster, Munster & International: 2pm-5pm.
Attending a talent identification session
Players should arrive at least 15 minutes before the start of their confirmed session time. All players should bring a dark top and a light top, reversible if possible. Players should also bring adequate food and drink for the time they are required to attend.
Eligibility
Note – There are no open trials for the under 16 and under 18 age groups for the coming season. These form part of the pathway programs and players selected from the under 15 academy program run in season 21-22 and the under 17 development squad run in season 21-22. Coaches from the national team programs are always monitoring performance throughout the club and schools season and players not already part of the pathway programs can be called in to squads by National Team Head coaches.
