Masters National Cup 2026/27

Teams wishing to enter the Basketball Ireland Masters National Cup Competitions can find all the information below.

Competition Overview

• Teams competing in the competition must be registered with a Basketball Ireland registered club.
• The format of the competition will be determined once the final number of team entries is known.
• All teams are guaranteed a minimum of two games.
• Games will follow standard FIBA National League rules.

Player Registration & Eligibility

• All players must be registered with Basketball Ireland and hold a valid current BIPIN.
• Player registration fee: €28.00 per player.
• Players should register as an Adult player and then select Masters from the dropdown menu.

Age Categories

Guest Players & Combined Teams

• M40: No guest players are permitted.
• F40: Each team may include up to two guest players from another club that does not have a team entered in the Masters Cup. Guest players must be registered with Basketball Ireland.
• M50: Each team may include up to two guest players from another club that does not have a team entered in the Masters Cup. Guest players must be registered with Basketball Ireland.
• F50: Each team may include up to four guest players from another club that does not have a team entered in the Masters Cup. Guest players must be registered with Basketball Ireland.
• Combined club teams: Two clubs may request to enter a combined team together, provided all players are registered with Basketball Ireland. The BI Masters Committee will review such requests and will allow them only if a club in an area is unable to enter a full team. This applies to all age categories.

Match Officials, Table Officials & Costs

• Referees will be appointed by Basketball Ireland.
• Table Officials (TOs) will be appointed/provided by the home team.
• Referee and TO fees will be split evenly between both teams and paid immediately after the game
• Hall hire will be paid by the home team.
• The home team must provide the travelling team with a minimum warm-up time of 30 minutes.

• The game date, tip-off time and venue Eircode must be emailed at least five days before tip-off to:

Results & Post-Game Information

• The home team must email the result to masterscups@basketballireland.ie.
• Please include the following information:
• Half-time score
• Full-time score
• Names of the top three scorers from each team
• Picture of both teams

Team Entry Fee & Bond

• Entry fee: €160 per team.
• Bond for new teams: €165.
• Teams that paid the bond last year will have that bond rolled over to this season.
• Team registration, entry fee and bond must be completed online.
