U14, U15 and U17 squads announced ahead of upcoming tournaments

The Basketball Ireland Academy selection that will compete at the U14 and U15 Four Nations Tournament against England, Scotland and Wales have been announced, with the U15 competition due to take place over two days in the National Basketball Performance Centre in Manchester, starting this Saturday, May 31st. 

Any information about streaming or how to follow all competitions mentioned in this article will be shared once made available by the host federations. 

Ian Lynch's U15 Women's will open against England at 09:30 on Saturday morning, before facing Wales later that afternoon at 15:00. They round off the tournament against Scotland at 09:30 on Sunday morning. Gareth O'Reilly's U15 Men's take on England at 12:30 on Saturday, Wales at 17:30 and Scotland at 12:00 on Sunday afternoon.

The U14 Four Nations Tournament is scheduled to take place in East Kilbride, Scotland between June 13-15th, also against England Scotland and Wales. 

Keith Daly's U14 Men's and Elaine Scally's U14 Women's Academy selections will begin their tournament simultaneously at 19:30 on Friday, June 13th against England. They'll both face Wales at 11:00 on Saturday and Scotland just over three hours later at 14:30. Semi-finals, a 3rd/4th place playoff and a final will then take place on Sunday afternoon, meaning both teams will play five games during the course of the weekend.

The Basketball Ireland U17 International Pathway Programme will also take part in the U17 Four Nations Tournament - which takes place in Cardiff, Wales on Saturday, June 28th and Sunday, June 29th - as well as the Belfast Invitational between August 1st and August 3rd. 

Head Coach Andy Gill's U17 Women's programme will face England first at 09:30 on Saturday, take on Wales at 15:30 and close the competition against Scotland at 09:30 on Sunday morning. Ciaran Kiveney's U17 Men begin day one against England at 13:00, followed by Wales at 18:00 and Scotland at 12:00 on Sunday afternoon. Games will take place at the Archers Arena and Sports Hall at Cardiff's Met Cyncoed Campus.

Coach Gill has chosen 16 players to compete in the Four Nations, with a further eight players selected for the Belfast Invitational and summer programme to follow.
