Cup finalists Gurranabraher Credit Union Brunell face Trinity Meteors challenge in MissQuote.ie Super League

Gurranabraher Credit Union Brunell head coach Liam Culloty says “it’s easy to become distracted” by next InsureMyHouse.ie National Cup final, but says his team is very much focussed on this weekend’s MissQuote.ie Super League game with Trinity Meteors.

After last weekend’s Cup semi-finals, it’s a full programme of National League fixtures this weekend, with Gurranabraher Credit Union Brunell hosting Trinity Meteors. Culloty said: "Obviously with Cup final on the way it's easy to become distracted, but in fairness as soon as we gathered for training on Monday night, we were really tuned in on the challenge of Meteors this weekend. They have made a few roster changes and have really improved on when we last played them. They pushed Wildcats all the way last weekend and have a very good young core of Irish players who will also be involved in the U18 Cup final next weekend, so I'm sure it will make for a great game.”

Their InsureMyHouse.ie Paudie O’Connor National Cup final opponents, Catalyst Fr. Mathews have the weekend off. Meanwhile the two beaten Cup semi-finalists from last weekend - Pryobel Killester and FloMAX Liffey Celtics – faceoff at IWA.

Killester head coach, Mark Grennell, is looking forward to getting back to the court. “It’s a nice one to have a chance to bounce back from. We’ve to put last week behind us and focus on staying on the coattails of the league leaders. I am sure this week will be a strange one for Liffey - taking on the role of ‘favourites ‘, but if everything can go right for us - and we can avoid going down 30 in the first quarter, I’m confident we can give them a run for their money”, Grennell said.

It's fourth versus fifth as SETU Waterford Wildcats host The Address UCC Glanmire, while Portlaoise Panthers are at home against Ulster University and DCU Mercy take on University of Galway Mystics.
