Basketball Ireland is pleased to announce 11 new safeguarding courses, which are now available on Basketball Ireland's Learning Management System 'Helpside'. There are a variety of dates and times for these courses over the next five months, starting next week, with more to be added as required.
Who is Safeguarding Training for?
Safeguarding training is required for all individuals working or volunteering in basketball and must be completed at a level that reflects the nature and responsibility of their role. Those with regular contact or oversight of children and young people should undertake basic awareness training, delivered either face‑to‑face or online.
To remain compliant with national standards, safeguarding training should be updated regularly and aligned with current legislation, ensuring that staff and volunteers maintain the knowledge and confidence needed to recognise and respond to concerns.
Note: Safeguarding courses are open to participants aged 16 and over. Individuals aged 16–17 will be required to submit parental consent before attending.
