Gus Lewis announced as Basketball Ireland’s new Head of Commercial and Brand

Basketball Ireland is delighted to announce the appointment of Gus Lewis as its new Head of Commercial and Brand.

Lewis comes to Basketball Ireland following over five years with the Football Association of Ireland, where he held the role of Partnerships Account Manager. He managed key international team sponsorships for the Association, working with high-profile brands such as Sky, Castore, Diageo, and Cadbury. He also led commercial delivery at senior international match days.

Before that he worked with Teneo and also serves as a match delegate for European Professional Club Rugby across their two premier competitions. He holds a Masters degree in Sports Management from UCD as well as a degree in Commerce and Hispanic Studies from UCC.

Speaking of his appointment, Lewis said: “I am thrilled to be joining Basketball Ireland at a very exciting time for the sport and its members. This is an organisation with ambitious targets for the future, impressive plans for a new National Basketball Arena and extensive potential for commercial growth. His appointment is a critical step as we continue to work towards improving our revenue streams, the construction of a new National Basketball Arena - facilitating the growth of basketball at all levels into the future.”
