Basketball Ireland and Hula Hoops end partnership after six years

Basketball Ireland has today announced that Hula Hoops will no longer be the title sponsor of the National Cup competitions, as both parties have agreed to end their partnership after six years.

Since coming on board in 2015, Hula Hoops have been a major supporter of Irish basketball and have helped the sport grow significantly. Amongst the many highlights throughout the sponsorship were the sold-out National Cup Finals each January, the Irish Sponsorship Award winning 3x3 competitions in both Dundrum Town Centre and Bray Seafront and the Irish senior men’s title win in FIBA European Championship for Small Countries last month at the National Basketball Arena.

Basketball Ireland’s Commercial Manager, Conor Meany, said: “We are hugely grateful to Hula Hoops and the wider Tayto Snacks Company for all of their support over the past six years. The Irish Sponsorship Award in 2018 was a major highlight and something that had never been achieved by our sport before. We wish Tayto Snacks the best of luck in the future as our eyes turn to preparing for the upcoming season. We hope to have some exciting sponsorship news shortly, as the game gets back up and running.”

Senior Brand Manager in Tayto Snacks, Karen Hurley, added: “The team at Tayto Snacks has immensely enjoyed working with Basketball Ireland over the past six years. An incredible partnership, during which time basketball in Ireland has grown from strength to strength, as has the Hula Hoops brand. It has been a pleasure to work with Basketball Ireland and the wider basketball community since 2015. We wish Basketball Ireland all the best for the future.”
