Ballincollig secured the Domino’s Men’s Super League regular season top spot following a 112-103 double overtime win over Belfast Star, with Killester securing second spot thanks to their 100-79 win over EJ Sligo All-Stars.
In the battle against relegation, Energywise Ireland Neptune needed two overtime periods to defeat UCD Marian 117-112, while Flexachem KCYMS kept pace with Neptune with their own 91-85 road win over Limerick Celtics on Saturday night. A win for Energywise Ireland Neptune over Griffith College Éanna on Monday would secure their safety, they resume that game trailing 22-4, which was the scoreline when play was stopped in the original fixture due to a serious injury. If Neptune lose Monday's game the bottom two teams would end the season with matching win/loss records and it would lead to a one-off relegation playoff between Energywise Ireland Neptune and Flexachem KCYMS, which would take place next weekend at a neutral venue.
UCC Demons ensured they didn't get pulled into the relegation battle with a 100-73 win over St. Vincent's on Sunday, after which UCC Demons head coach Daniel O’Mahony announced he was stepping down after six years in the role.
O’Mahony steered the side back into the Super League and went on to win the MSL National Cup in 2023/24 – the club’s eighth Pat Duffy Cup - and followed it with the 2024/25 Domino’s Men’s Super League title.
Speaking after the St. Vincent’s game, O’Mahony said: “Really proud to go out on a high and win our final game and finish strong. This year will be a real learning curve for these guys and I can’t wait to support them. I felt it was right time for me to step away, reflect from my learnings and who knows how long I will stay away.”
Fourth-placed Griffith College Éanna ended their regular season with a 92-66 triumph over Garvey’s Tralee Warriors, with the two sides to meet again next week in the quarter-final playoffs.
The playoffs will see top seeds Ballincollig host Limerick Celtics, second-placed Killester have home advantage against St. Vincent’s and Belfast Star take on UCD Marian.
Ballincollig capped off a remarkable regular season with a 112-103 double-overtime triumph over Belfast Star on Saturday, to secure first place heading into the playoff stage of the season. Latrell Jossell scored 35 points for Ballincollig, including 11 points in the second overtime period, where he also made three three’s to push Ballincollig over the line.
Ballincollig had a 76-67 lead midway through the fourth quarter, but scores from Roger Wilson, Conor Quinn and Shane Dezonie made it a three-point game with the score at 78-75 with two minutes left. After Star head coach Adrian Fulton was ejected in the third quarter, Star showed resilience in fighting back into the game. Inside the final minute, Josh Steel had two trips to the free-throw line where he went 1-4 and gave Ballincollig an 86-84 advantage with just seconds left. Star’s Dezonie made a quick break up the floor to take a three which fell short, but he recovered his own attempt and put it back in with just 0.1 of a second to go and bring the game to overtime.

After securing the win in double OT, Ballincollig end the season at 17-5, making it a Domino’s Men’s Super League National Cup and regular season double. They will now welcome Limerick Celtics in the quarter-finals of the playoffs. For Star, they host UCD Marian in their quarter-final tie, following Killester’s win that saw Star finish in third spot.
Killester overtook Belfast Star to finish in second place thanks to their 100-79 victory over EJ Sligo All-Stars. Killester kept the win as comprehensive as possible, leading from the opening minutes of the first quarter until the very end of the game. Josh Wilson and Robert Braswell scored 23 points each for Killester, along with a strong showing from the supporting cast of Paul Dick and Matthew McGrath, who scored 30 points between them. All-Stars’ pro Jordan Hinds scored a game-high 36 points in the defeat.
A 42-point first quarter set Killester well on their way to a strong victory. The win means Killester finish on 16 wins for the season. Their head-to-head record with Star means they take second place heading into the playoffs. They will be at home to St. Vincent’s in the quarter-finals. Sligo could still finish as low as 11th in the table, should Energywise Ireland Neptune win their remaining fixture.
Energywise Ireland Neptune kept their survival hopes alive with a double-overtime win over UCD Marian. Samuel John Henderson had 33 points, with 20 of those coming in two overtime periods for Neptune. Marian led by as much as 17 during normal time, but two threes in the final minute from Adon Gregorio and Henderson sent the game to overtime. Michael Hayes was a major contributor to Neptune’s success alongside Henderson, scoring 31 points, with 27 in normal time. Bruce Saintilus and Tanner Graham were leading the way for Marian, scoring 59 points between them in the loss. Marian finished sixth, with a record of 10-12.
The sequence that allowed Energywise Ireland Neptune to take the game against UCD Marian to overtime was insane 😵

Flexachem KCYMS picked up a vital 91-85 road win at Limerick Celtics in UL Arena. Eche Okeke and Jordan Blount did their best to ensure Killorglin kept their season alive, with Okeke scoring 25 points and Blount getting 23. Marquez Samir Letcher-Ellis had a dominant game inside, scoring 14 points and grabbing 21 rebounds. AJ Williams had a game-high 26 points, as he ended the season at the top of the points scoring table in the league. Celtics 20-year old Philip Kearney had 22 points, including five threes in the loss.
Killorglin managed to stay above the bottom spot for the time being with the win over Celtics, however a win for Neptune on Monday would mean Killorglin will be relegated. Celtics end their first Domino’s Men’s Super League season in eighth, with a record of 9-13. They head to Ballincollig in their first playoff game.
The Éanna trio of Jaylyn Richardson, Stefan Desnica and Adam Charles combined 62 of Éanna’s 92 points in their 92-66 win over Garvey’s Tralee Warriors. After a back and forth opening quarter that ended with the sides locked at 20-20, Éanna started to apply more pressure, building as much as a 26-point lead on their way to their 13th win of the season.
UCC Demons finished Danny O’Mahony’s tenure with a 100-79 triumph over St. Vincent's. Demons took the lead midway through the second quarter and would not surrender it for the remainder of the game. Jordan Washington led the way for Demons, scoring 25 points and grabbing 12 rebounds. James Hannigan and Tala Fam Thiam combined for 40 points between them as a strong supporting performance from both men.
Demons season as defending champions comes to a close with a record of 8-14, finishing one place short of a playoff berth, in ninth.
