14 teams will be in the pot for the Pat Duffy Cup. Newly promoted Ulster University are no strangers to success in knockout competition, having collected the InsureMyHouse.ie Presidents’ Cup last season and head coach Ryan McCormick will be eyeing another strong run to build confidence through their league campaign. Maree BC enter the hat as defending champions. Their thrilling victory against Griffith College Éanna in the 2022/23 decider is still fresh in the minds of fans of both clubs.

Pyrobel Killester sprung a mini-shock last year by lifting the InsureMyHouse.ie Paudie O’Connor Cup. Mark Grennell’s charges defeated University of Galway Mystics, SETU Waterford Wildcats and Trinity Meteors en-route to silverware. The Address UCC Glanmire will be chief amongst those who are eyeing the trophy in 2023/24, with all eleven MissQuote.ie Super League teams entering the competition believing this could be their turn for glory.

Abbey Seals Dublin Lions are the team to dethrone in the InsureMyHouse.ie Women’s Division One National Cup. Rob White’s side took the spoils in a hard fought contest with Phoenix Rockets in their maiden season in the competition and both will be among the favourites to reach that stage once more. Elsewhere, St. Paul’s Killarney will see this as a great opportunity at silverware having reached the last four a year ago, while McEvoy’s Cavan Eagles, Limerick Celtics and a new look ISecure Swords Thunder will believe the right draw could see them reach the latter stages.

A new name will grace the Presidents’ Cup following Ulster University’s promotion. Beaten finalists Moy Tolka Rovers will be hopeful of another good run despite the loss of talisman Matt Treacy in the off-season. Drogheda Wolves have an excellent recent record in the tournament, reaching the decider and final four in the last two seasons, UCD Marian after their relegation will be many people’s pre-competition favourites, or could it be Titans BC, the returning kids on the block who go all the way in 2023/24? This could be the most open of the four InsureMyHouse.ie National Cup competitions.

Don’t forget you will be able to watch all draws on basketballireland.tv.
