Basketball Ireland announce talent identification pathways for five international programmes

In preparation for the forthcoming international season, provisional dates have been set aside for open talent identification sessions for the following programmes.

Basketball Ireland U14 Regional Academy Programme

The first sessions for this programme will take place on the weekend of the 28^th/29^th of October 2023.

Basketball Ireland U15 Regional Academy Programme

Basketball Ireland U16/U18 International Programmes

No open talent identification sessions will be held for these age groups.

Selections will primarily come from the Basketball Ireland U15 and U17 Academy Programmes, along with eligible players living outside of Ireland.

Players not part of these programmes for the following (but not limited to) reasons could still be considered for selection for the final squad on a case by case basis:

• Not being selected
• Long term injury
• Living outside of Ireland
• Players excelling during the club basketball season

Details for these times/dates/venues will be sent directly to Basketball Ireland Academy players.

Basketball Ireland U17 Academy Programme

Open talent identification sessions will take place for boys and girls provisionally on the following dates subject to coaching appointments:

 Players from these trials days will be selected to partake in a second session on the following date:

The Basketball Ireland U17 Academy squad will be selected thereafter.

Registration to take part in open talent identification sessions will be open from Thursday, September 7th on the Basketball Ireland website and social media.
