Ireland U20 women's head coach Karl Kilbride and U20 men's head coach Thomas Walsh are holding open talent identification sessions ahead of the 2025 international basketball season.
The open talent identification session for the Ireland U20 women's team will take place in Leixlip Amenities Centre, Leixlip, Co. Kildare from 12pm to 5pm on Friday, December 27th. A training fee of €15 will be required on the day. Players born in 2005 and 2006 are eligible.
Anyone who wishes to take part will need to register through the following link:
"We're really looking forward to getting started on the 27th. The level of talent coming through year after year is incredible," said Kilbride. With both the U20s and U18s having such successful campaigns last year and a lot of those same players being available, to go along with the abundance of talent around the country at the moment, we'll be setting ourself some really lofty goals again."

The open talent identification session for the Ireland U20 men's team will take place in the National Basketball Arena, Dublin from 11am to 3pm on Sunday, January 26th. A training fee of €20 will be required on the day.

"We’re looking forward to getting the selection process for FIBA Youth EuroBasket in Armenia next July underway at the National Basketball Arena. There was some big wins all across the Irish programmes last summer, so it’s great to see Ireland continuing to improve at this level each season. We know we have a strong group to select from at this age level. I hope all the players are ready to compete at the highest level to get one of the 12 green jerseys. Can’t wait to get started," said Walsh.
