Ireland U18 women head to European Challengers in Czech Republic

Women's team off to FIBA U18 European Challengers

The Ireland U18 women's team set off yesterday for Czech Republic to compete at the FIBA U18 European Challengers. Ireland are seeded in group B of the competition, alongside Lithuania, hosts Czech Republic, Hungary, Turkey and Serbia. The competition begins on Tuesday 27th July, and continues until Sunday 1st August. Throughout this week, Ireland will face each of the other teams in the group, with a rest day on Friday 30th July. The European Challengers events were introduced by FIBA for 2021 only in lieu of the European Championships which were cancelled due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. Participation by each country is voluntary.
