EPC seeking applications for Masters coach and manager positions

The Elite Performance Committee (EPC) of Basketball Ireland are currently looking for applicants for the following positions for the Irish international Masters teams:

Men’s O40 Head Coach, Men's O50 Head Coach, Men's O60 Head Coach, Men's O65 Head Coach, Men's Team Manager O40, O50, O60  & O65.

Women’s O40 Head Coach. Women’s O50 Head Coach, Women’s Team Manager O40  &. O50.

Applicants for the Head Coach positions should have a minimum of a Level 1 coaching qualification. They should also be Garda Vetted, be registered with Basketball Ireland, and have a Basketball Ireland Coaching Licence. Experience within Masters basketball would be an advantage but not essential.

All applicants must be available to travel to the European Championships which will take place in Malaga June 23rd to July 3rd and would be expected to run a training program in the months leading up to the event.

These positions are voluntary, and the trip will be self-funded for both players and staff. There will be a nominal contribution from Basketball Ireland.

Applicants for the Managers positions must be Garda Vetted and registered with Basketball Ireland. Previous experience as a team manager and Masters basketball experience would be an advantage.

The deadline for the Head Coach and Managers positions is close of business on Friday November 12th and candidates may be shortlisted for interview.

Once head coaches and managers have been appointed, there will be an open trial for team selection. Depending on standard and numbers attending the trial at the various age groups the teams will be selected for entry to the completion.
