Switzerland v Ireland: Everything you need to know

Ireland face Switzerland today in their third game of the FIBA EuroBasket 2025 Pre-Qualifiers. The game takes place at the Halle Monisport Saint-Léonard in Fribourg, Switzerland, at 6.30pm GMT (Irish time). You can watch the game live below:

The story so far

This is Ireland's first fixture of the second window of games, and following today's game, Ireland will host Cyprus this Sunday at the National Basketball Arena, Dublin (5pm GMT). In the first window, Ireland had mixed results, firstly defeating Cyprus 81-73 away (Game report), followed by a defeat at home at the hands of Austria, 7-97 (Game Report).

Switzerland currently sit on the same record as Ireland, having also defeated Cyprus and lost to Austria in the first window. Austria are top of the table with two wins, while Cyprus sit at the bottom having experienced two losses. Cyprus host Austria today in Nicosia in the other game of the group.

Ireland, Austria, Cyrpus and Switzerland are all in Group A of the qualifying tournament for FIBA EuroBasket 2025. The group winners of each group (A,B, and C) and the best ranked second-placed team from three qualifying groups, will progress to the FIBA EuroBasket 2025 Pre-Qualifiers Second Round.
