FloMAX Liffey Celtics managed to grab their first win of the Domino's Women's Super League season after holding off a late run from Gurranabraher Credit Union Brunell in a 66-65 win.
Brooke Kane scored 26 points for Celtics in a game where Brunell led by as much as 19 and held the lead for the entire game until midway through the fourth quarter. The win for Liffey takes them off of the foot of the table to ninth place as they prepare to take on Utility Trust St. Pauls Killarney in a few weeks to carry on the momentum of that first win. For Brunell, the loss drops them to fourth in the table with a 3-2 record. They travel to Portlaoise next to take on Midlands Park Portlaoise Panthers.

26 points from Laila Blair was not enough for Catalyst Fr. Mathews as promoted side McEvoy’s Cavan Eagles won 82-69 to get their second win of the season. Soleil Barnes had 33 points and Katie O’Sullivan had 14 points and 14 rebounds for Cavan as they now reach fifth position with a 2-3 record with Fr. Mathews at the foot of the table still searching for that first win in the Domino’s Women’s Super League.
Killester made it five wins out of five as they defeated Midlands Park Portlaoise Panthers 81-64. A convincing team performance carried Killester with Samantha Haiby, Audrey Roden, Hannah Thornton and Ieva Bagdanaviciene all hitting double digits in points with Haiby adding 15 rebounds and Thornton providing 10 of her own. Killester travel to Trinity next looking to go 6-0 with Portlaoise hosting Gurranabraher Credit Union Brunell looking to get their season back on track with a second victory.

Hazel Finn has enjoyed life since moving to Trinity and continued her good form leading Meteors to a 63-53 triumph over Utility Trust St. Pauls Killarney. Meteors went in front early in the first quarter and never surrendered it from there on out. The victory moves Trinity Meteors ahead of Utility Trust St. Pauls Killarney into second place at 4-1 and it also hands Killarney their first loss of the season as they end the weekend in third place.
There was a sole fixture for viewing on Sunday this weekend with SETU Waterford Wildcats getting to a positive 3-2 record on the season with a 79-75 win at UCC Glanmire. Irish international Sarah Hickey continued her stellar form this season with a 28-point and nine rebound performance accompanied by an 18-point and 18 rebound showing from Tiarra Brown to get the victory in a back and forth game where teams were tied up on five separate occasions. For Glanmire, Viane Cumber and Jewel Watkins both had 20+ point games but it ultimately fell short for Glanmire as they fall to 2-3 and are left in seventh place after the game.
