Domino’s Super League and Division One playoff quarter-finals dates, venues and times confirmed

Domino’s Men’s Super League regular season table toppers Ballincollig face Limerick Celtics in the opening playoff quarter-final at MTU Arena in Cork at 4pm, as the venues, dates and times for the Domino’s Men’s and Women’s Super League and Division One playoff quarter-finals were confirmed. Ballincollig edged Limerick Celtics 70-67 in the Dominos MSL National Cup semi-finals, however it was one win apiece in the league.

Elsewhere in the Domino’s Men’s Super League playoffs Griffith College Éanna, who defeated Garvey’s Tralee Warriors 92-66 last weekend, meet again at Coláiste Éanna on Saturday, with a 7pm tip-off. Second seeds Killester round out Saturday’s action when they host St. Vincent’s at the IWA at 8.15pm, with Killester seeking a third win of the season against their Dublin rivals . The quarter-final line-up is completed with Belfast Star hosting UCD Marian at Newforge at 1pm on Sunday. Belfast Star won both the regular season games between the sides, by five and four-point margins in two tight contests, the most recent an 84-80 road victory at the end of February.

The finalised fixture details for the Domino’s Men’s Super League relegation playoff between Energywise Ireland Neptune and Flexachem KCYMS are due to be confirmed on Wednesday. Both teams finished on 7-15 records, following Energywise Ireland Neptune’s 117-72 defeat at Griffith College Éanna on Monday.

Domino’s Women’s Super League first-place finishers Killester, who are seeking a third consecutive league title, host McEvoy’s Cavan Eagles at 6pm at the IWA in their playoff quarter-final, Killester won both regular season games against the newly promoted side. The opening last eight game sees Trinity Meteors host SETU Waterford Wildcats at 5.30pm, Jillian Hayes’ team have edged Meteors twice so far this season, a 68-66 away success in October and a 74-71 home victory in January. The Mardyke Arena is the venue for the eagerly anticipated Cork derby between UCC Glanmire and Gurranabraher Credit Union Brunell, with Mark Scannell’s side seeking a first success this season against Liam Culloty’s team. Last season’s Domino’s Women’s Super League finalists Utility Trust St. Paul’s Killarney face this season’s Domino’s WSL National Cup runners up FloMAX Liffey Celtics at Aura Killarney at 3.45pm on Sunday. James Fleming’s side did the regular season double over the Kildare outfit.

All of the Domino’s Men’s Division One playoff quarter-finals will take place on Saturday, Dublin Lions who finished with top of the North Conference on a 18-4 record, host Titans BC at 5.30pm. The top seeds from the South Conference Limerick Sport Eagles take on Moy Tolka Rovers at UL Arena at 7pm. It’s a 7pm tip off for Maree versus Carrick Cruisers at Calasanctius College, while at 7.30pm Drogheda Wolves host SPK Utility Trust Lakers at Ballymakenny College.

The Domino’s Women’s Division One playoff quarter-finals are all scheduled for Saturday, regular season first-place finishers Cleveland Rockets host University of Galway Mystics at 6pm at Lisburn Racquets Club. It’s 5pm tip offs for the Dublin derby between Templeogue and Moy Tolka Rovers at TUD Tallaght and for the Limerick Celtics versus Swords Thunder game at Cresent College. Domino’s WD1 National Cup winners Limerick Sport Huskies host Clunetech Kilkenny Stars at Limerick Educate Together at 4pm.
