Ireland begin their challenge in the FIBA U17 Men’s 3x3 Europe Cup in Crete this afternoon with games against Slovenia and Romania in Pool C.
The top two sides in each of four pools will progress to the quarter-finals, which take place on Sunday. Head coach Paul Kelleher’s side are ranked 19th so will face a stiff task to reach that point with Slovenia ranked 3rd and Romania 6th in the tournament.
Pool A: Germany, Spain and Croatia
Pool B: Latvia, Poland and Greece
Pool C: Slovenia, Romania and Ireland
Pool D: France, Serbia and Israel
Germany enter the competition as favourites to retain their title along with Latvia and Slovenia.
