Updated Introduction coaching course being offered across Ireland

The Basketball Ireland coach education department have updated the introduction coaching award, with in-service tutor sessions completed recently to ensure the introduction coach participants are provided with the best experience possible on their journey into coaching basketball. Coaches that require a coaching certificate should book their place on one of the updated courses.

Basketball Ireland will be running a series of 'introduction' and 'level one' courses across the country, with further details on venues, dates, and registration available on the BI ship web page. The cost for the introduction coaching course is €55 per person, while the level one course will cost €90 per person. Please check the BI shop web page for course availability.

 For clubs and area boards who wish to purchase a course, they can purchase a full course or a set number of places on a course. Purchased courses will only be provided when tutors become available, and it may not be possible to guarantee a specific date for the course. Please see below for further information:

BI introduction Coaching Course - purchase options

Maximum number of participants: 24

Course duration: Eight hours

Over 16yrs only – no exceptions.

Option one – Full course €1,000 - Club/area board provides and pays for the venue and is allocated 24 places on the course. Basketball Ireland will provide and pay for the tutor and associated Coaching Ireland costs.

Option two – Partial course €700 - Club/area board provides and pays for the venue and is allocated 14 places on the course. Basketball Ireland will provide and pay for the tutor and associated Coaching Ireland costs and will allocate the remaining 10 places on the course through the BI shop.

BI Level One Coaching Course - purchase options

Maximum number of participants: 20

Course duration: 20 hours

Must have completed the intro course at least one year previously. Over 16yrs only – no exceptions.

Option one – Full course €1,500 - Club/area board provides and pays for the venue and is allocated 20 places on the course. Basketball Ireland will provide and pay for the tutor and associated Coaching Ireland costs.

Option two – Partial course €700 - Club/area board provides and pays for the venue and is alloacted 10 places on the course. Basketball Ireland will provide and pay for the tutor and associated Coaching Ireland costs and will allocate the remaining 10 places on the course through the BI shop.
