Appeal for volunteer table officials at Special Olympics Ireland basketball events

The Commissioners and Table Officials Committee (CTOC) is delighted to work with Special Olympics Ireland to support them in running their upcoming basketball events and is appealing for volunteer table officials.

You need to either be a registered volunteer with Special Olympics Ireland, or a registered table official with Basketball Ireland for this season. If you aren't registered with either organisation, but would still like to volunteer, please contact Deborah McArdle via email on deborahtmcardle@gmail.com, or mobile on 087 6317177, as soon as possible and she will try to get you registered.

The dates of the events are:

Saturday, 23rd April - Munster Region Advancement Day - Fr. Mathews, Cork City – 10 am to 4 pm approx.

Saturday, May 7th - Eastern Region Advancement Day - Gormanston College, Co. Meath - 9am

Sunday, May 8th - Eastern Region Advancement Day - Gormanston College, Co. Meath

- 9 am

Saturday, 14th May - Leinster Region Advancement Day - Gormanston College, Co. Meath, - 10 am

Saturday, 14th May - Connaught Region Advancement Day - the Kingfisher, NUIG, Galway - 11 am to 1 pm.

Special Olympics Ireland would prefer if you could attend for the full day, but if you can only offer an hour or two, please contact Deborah and she will appoint you for your available hours.

The event teams are also looking for basketball referees to volunteer. Again, they need to be registered with Special Olympics Ireland or Basketball Ireland. Any interested referees can contact Deborah McArdle or Special Olympics Ireland directly.

“We are all very excited that after such a long period of time basketball is up and running again. Most especially the Special Olympics Ireland basketball events that are starting again and we hope that as many Table Officials as possible will get involved. Deborah is looking forward to hearing from you and, hopefully, to see you in person at one or all the events. CTOC is hoping you are enjoying your table officiating. Please help us to help those who are not as fortunate as we are.” Gerry Kelly, Secretary of Commissioners and Table Officials Committee (CTOC)
