Basketball Ireland invites expression of interest for 2025 women's 3x3 programme

Basketball Ireland would like to invite expressions of interest from players eligible to take part in the FIBA 3x3 Women's World Series, FIBA U23 3x3 Nations League and FIBA 3x3 Europe Cup qualification in 2025.

This will be our second year competing in the FIBA 3x3 Women's World Series. Ireland finished in 35th out of 51 teams in 2024, taking part in stops in Clermont-Ferrand, Poitiers, Orleans, Bordeaux, Fribourg and Baku in our inaugral campaign.

Expression of Interest for all events

Grainne Dwyer competes against France during the FIBA 3x3 Women's World Series stop in Clermont Ferrand.

This will be our third year in the FIBA 3x3 Nations League, where the format remains unchanged as two, 'triple stop' tournaments.

This means teams will travel to a designated venue to play three tournaments at the same venue on three successive days. This will take place twice during the season which runs between May and August, with the finals being held in September should we qualify.

Exact times and dates will be confirmed once FIBA conduct the draw for the 2025 tournament.

Regulations

Men and women interested in being considered for selection must be under the age of 23 as of midnight, December 31st 2024.

You can express your interest by completing this form:

Important points to note:

  • Depending on the volume of applications, players will be asked to attending training sessions where the final squad will be selected.
  • Not all players will be selected to attend trials.
  • This will be determined on previous experience, standard of play and eligibility to play for Ireland.
  • Anyone wishing to play for Ireland must hold a valid Irish passport.
