Belfast Star head coach Adrian Fulton feels his side "still have a lot of room for growth", despite the Domino's Men's Super League leaders making a 6-0 start to the season. They put their unbeaten record on the line with a double-gameweek and they have just a 19-hour turnaround between games this weekend. They face a trip to St. Vincent’s on Saturday night, followed by an early game on Sunday afternoon against Griffith College Éanna. If results go their way, Belfast could be as much as four games clear at the top when the weekend comes to a close.
Belfast Star head coach Adrian Fulton said: "We have started the season very positively, but we feel we still have a lot of room for growth as a team. It’s still very early in the season, but it’s clear already that it’s a very deep and competitive league. Any team can beat any other team on a given day. St Vincent’s have shown how good they are with the win at Ballincollig who are excellent, and a very talented Killorglin side. So we know we will have to play really well to win on the road on Saturday and all our preparation is geared towards that game.
He added: "The first time we will think about Éanna will be Sunday morning, as we have too much respect for St. Vincent’s to look past them. Éanna are an excellent side with great depth, so we know that we will have to be at our very best to get another win. We are looking forward to playing in front of our home supporters again, it seems a lifetime ago!"
Only UCC Demons and Ballincollig will have a one-game weekend, with every other team playing twice between Friday and Sunday. For Demons, they will be looking to get their derailed title defence back on track with a trip to fourth-placed Griffith College Éanna on Saturday evening. A win for UCC would get them to 2-5 and slowly start a resurgence of their season. A win for Éanna would see their title charge go from strength-to-strength, as they chase the unbeaten Belfast Star.
For Ballincollig, a win over Éanna to make the Domino's MSL National Cup quarter-finals last weekend and sitting in second place is an ideal place to be for Ciaran O’Sullivan’s men. This weekend they host fifth spot Garvey’s Tralee Warriors. Jordan Perkins will be a tough customer to stop for Ballincollig, who is averaging almost 19 points per game on the season. Both sides are finely poised at 4-2 in the table, a win would catapult either side to as high as second. For Tralee Warriors, they have a second game to contend with 24 hours later, as they go from an away game in Cork to an away fixture at EJ Sligo All-Stars on Sunday afternoon.
EJ Sligo All-Stars have just just two victories to their name this season, despite the big performances from Jazere Noel and RJ Etyle-Rock. Before they welcome the high-flying Tralee side, they host another Kerry side, Flexachem KCYMS the night before. For Killorglin, it has been a very mixed bag of results this season. For every big victory over UCD Marian, there has been a sobering defeat to Killester. They currently sit in seventh, with a 3-3 record. They could reach a record of 5-3 this weekend, as they travel back home after that Sligo game to host Energywise Ireland Neptune.
Neptune are just one of two teams at the foot of the table at 1-5 for the season, along with UCC Demons. Now under the stewardship of Ciaran Kiveney, they will be looking to recover from a first-round elimination at the hands of Tralee in the cup last weekend, when they host third-placed Killester on Saturday and then make the journey to Kerry to face Flexachem KCYMS on Sunday.
Promoted side Limerick Celtics made waves last weekend when they eliminated league champions UCC Demons out of the Domino’s MSL National Cup. This weekend they will be looking to move to 4-4 in the league when they travel to Dublin to take on UCD Marian, who sit in sixth. After they travel to the capital, they return home to face another Dublin side in St. Vincent’s on Sunday, hoping to join the top half of the table on four wins through eight games of the season.

For UCD Marian and Killester, they both have an extra fixture against each other this weekend, after they take on Limerick Celtics and Neptune respectively. Jonathan Grennell’s side have enjoyed their start to the season with four victories out six for the season, with three players averaging in or around the 20-point mark in Robert Braswell, Josh Wilson and Paul Dick. UCD are hoping to end the weekend in the top four with the possibility they could be at 5-3 when the weekend is over.
All eleven games will be live this weekend on BITV
